| In 1998, Anne-Marie Mulgrew and Daniel Dorff collaborated on a commission from the Friends of the Rodin Museum titled "A Homage to Rodin." Due to rain, the performance was moved inside and performed alongside of the actual Rodin masterpieces. Inspired by the drama, Mr. Dorff, who was playing the clarinet, was drawn to the Eve sculpture. He wanted to make the sad Eve smile and this was the inspiration for his Serenade to Eve. Choreographically, I found the situation of performing with the sculptures extremely daunting. In this dance, I relish the opportunity to revisit the Rodin's rich body of work. This work initiated a new collaboration with guitar virtuoso, Keith Calmes. |
